Lil Wayne was rushed to the hospital again after suffering more
seizures. However, there are conflicting reports as to his condition.
TMZ
claims that he is in a critical state in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai
hospital in L.A. According to their sources, Wayne was seizing
uncontrollably as the result of a sizzurp binge. Doctors reportedly
found high amounts of codeine in his system. His family was by his side
and his mother is currently flying on a plane to L.A.
However, his Young Money family is refuting the reports.
“Wayne is alive and well! We watching the Syracuse game…thanks for
the prayers and concern..he will update you all soon. #love,” tweeted
Mack Maine.
Birdman added, “My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta…be home soon.YMCMB.”
The label plans to release an official statement shortly on his condition.
UPDATE: Mack Maine has fired back at TMZ, claiming reports of Wayne’s critical condition are false.
“@TMZ it’s certain shit you should not talk about or play with if u
don’t kno what u talking bout….don’t deceive the fans or the people,” he
tweeted. “@TMZ and definitely don’t try to kill a man before his
time….so from the bottom of my soul and on behalf of my fam……FUCK YOU.”
UPDATE 2: Lil Wayne has taken to Twitter to update fans on his condition.
“I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love,” he tweeted.
Sarah Cunningham, a publicist for Young Money, acknowledged to
CNN
that Wayne had a seizure and “is recovering,” while his independent
publicist, Kia Selby, said, “Lil Wayne is doing well.” She strongly
denied reports that he was in a coma.
UPDATE 3: TMZ now reports that he is still in
critical condition, but stabilizing. The prognosis is uncertain. He
was reportedly asleep when the tweet was sent out from his account.
Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant has also lashed out at TMZ. “@tmz is
fucked up for reporting false shit like that on someone’s life,” he
tweeted.
